Le Chause is a pretty group of traditional stone houses set in the peaceful Vézère valley. Run by Ruth and Bob Hodgson, Le Chause is located on the edge of the villages of Sergeac and Thonac the properties have a magnificent view of the picturesque Château de Belcayre.
Close to the pretty town of Montignac-Lascaux, famous for the oldest cave paintings yet discovered. Montignac is a busy town with two markets and many excellent restaurants and sites of interest. July sees a music festival with many styles and types of music performed over the weekend in the streets.
The caves of Lascaux are open to visitors along with a pre-historic park at Le Thot.
Between Montignac and Thonac is the Chateau de Losse which is open all year round to visitors with superb gardens and period interiors.
Also close by are the famous prehistoric sites of Les Eyzies, La Madelaine and St. Christophe within 20 kms,
The superb medieval town of Sarlat is half an hour and Perigueux, capital of the Dordogne region, is less than an hour’s drive.
